I’ve been MIA for awhile but back now! Looks like the Wildcats are gonna do as predicted. What a season for football. Chiefs are playing for 1st pick. When they call me for my advice I’m going to tell them to take Te’o. He’s an impact player that can change a game. Simply he’s the best player. They can grab a quarterback in the 2nd or even make a trade to get another pick in the 1st. Fire Pioli,Crenell, and Cassel. Then maybe the Chiefs can turn it around. Visit saveourchiefs.com. If I remember right I think I had mentioned Colin Klein and Heisman in the same sentence before the season started. He probably won’t get it due to the Baylor game but good luck to him. Who would have guessed it?! Not I. They may have a chance at home against the Chargers too. San Diego hasn’t been impressive thus far. I’m not sure what to expect this weekend. We will see.

I was totally right about the Wildcats though. They went to Norman and put it on the Sooners. The Wildcats will be there at the end of the season given no big injuries.

What do I even say? I’m deflated and beaten down. What a terrible showing. Is there even a positive to take away from Sunday’s game? Someone help me here. Chiefs looked awful, just awful. My other team the Bears had Cutler holding the ball like he was the only one on the field with no rushers chasing him. Then he looked like a spoiled brat/bully demeaning his tackle. What is going on?! Well at least the Wildcats over in Manhattan won. They may not have won the way they should have but they got the W. Jayhawks, well basketball is coming soon.

The Royals have been playing some inspiring ball recently. Day late and a dollar short but it’s been fun to watch. Man, I need to find some new teams. I never will though. I’m addicted to them win or lose. Pass me a Miller Lite.

Ah man! Where to start?! This is my time of the year! Every pitch in baseball means something. Football is here! K-State is legit like I knew they would be. Jayhawks, well, they’re the Hawks. Forever a basketball school. Chiefs did what I knew they would do. That defense is suspect. Being a running team means you can’t get into a shootout and that defense can’t keep them in the game long enough. Special teams again giving up field position, and an offense that can’t find consistency produces results like we saw today.

The man is back! The best tight end to ever play the game has come back home for his retirement trot around the league. I grew up watching Tony put in work week in and week out. Years later he works harder than his peers. Only Jerry Rice has more catches then him. Stop and think about that. Hats off to you Mr. Gonzalez. Good to have you back in town.

Dude! DUDE!!! What a terrible showing last night. Terrible. I’m disappointed by the all around lack of performance. Dropped balls by receivers put the offense in positions to look inept. The first half run defense, and for that matter the run defense for the game, looked like they were on skates all night being pushed around. Special teams was an embarrassment. Whew! To say frustration was peaked last night was an understatement. All wasn’t bad though. There were a few flashes of professional football being played. The one drive before the half was awesome. Plus Warpaint looked great on the sidelines! Pfff! Consistency was nowhere to found barring that one key drive they can build off of. In mop up duty it was fun watching Eachus bring a spark plug to the field. O-line did a great job opening holes for him. They have a lot to address in a few short weeks.

8 days! Say it with me, “8 days!”. College football begins. Being here in this square state in the middle of this beautiful country of ours we are blessed. Of course I’m a sucker for Big 12 pigskin but I’m a sucker for any football. So the 30th when South Carolina and Vanderbilt kick off you can bet I will be watching. It’s coming! I’m starting to get giddy! “And the home of the Chiiieeefffsss!” Let’s go Chiefs fans. It’s so close I can smell it. If they stay healthy they should be in contention with the Donkeys for the division and that means playoffs. What?! Come again. Yes, that’s right playoffs. I’m not usually quick to put that out there, but on paper it looks right. I cannot wait for 9/9/12. Let’s send the birds home feeling dirty!

The boys in blue are a little ahead of schedule this year. Any one that has followed them for an extended period of time knows the start of the year, lets say first month to month and half they come out swinging balls to the wall. Then September is always a great time to be a Royal. They usually play over .500 ball and end the year on an upswing. Too bad the chunk of the season they just can’t get runs across the plate. So is the life of a Royals fan. Unfortunately, we have gotten use to this show. Looks like September is here early. On the not so cynical side if they really make a run they could get into wild card mention but let’s not fool ourselves. Here’s hoping they prove me wrong.

It’s preseason and they lost. So what. From what I’ve seen things are looking good. I’ve been a Chiefs fan for as long as I can remember. I’ve never been afraid to say when they sucked or were gonna suck. With that being said I’m always cautious saying they will be good. Good meaning playoffs baby! They have to find a way to score more points and they made some improvements regarding that. It all starts at the line. That defense has gotten better with DJ one year wiser, Tamba bringing it off the edge, and Berry back healthy I’m expecting some bruising hits and turnovers all year. All that game was one week closer to real kick off. Let’s go!

We have no number 2! Here’s praying nothing happens to Matt Cassel. Without him the cautious optimism we take into this season would turn into an all out wasted year. I’ve never been a big fan of his, but from what we’ve seen and heard so far things look much improved. They’ve given him more control within the offense. The biggest indicator is his confidence. He has a swagger we haven’t seen before. Hold on Chiefs fans this could be a lot of fun.
